Overview

Thanks for checking this out! This doc has an overview of how we do planning at Warp. Specifically, there are two main mechanisms:

• Quarterly OKRs
• Weekly cycles

OKRs

OKRs stands for Objectives and Key Results, and refers to a goal setting process that is used at Google and other places.

There are two parts:

• The objective: a high-level english description of a goal
• Key results: a set of measurable outcomes which taken together imply that the objective was achieved.

Company OKRs

Every quarter we make a new set of company-wide OKRs and also grade our last quarter’s OKRs to see how we did.

Note for Warp, that because the company started in June 2020, our quarters run from:

• Q1: Dec - Feb
• Q2: March - May
• Q3: June - Aug
• Q4: Sept - Nov

The OKR planning process

We begin working on OKRs about 3 weeks before the end of each Warp quarter, roughly following this process:
